Puu O Hulu – Pink Pillbox Hike
Chad and I hiked the Pink Pillbox, or Pu’U’ O Hulu, a couple of weekends ago and it was a seriously awesome hike!
This hike is on the West side of the island and I know some people have iffy opinions about going over there but we have done another hike on the west side of the island and have gone to the beaches over there many times and haven’t had any problems before! Do what is most comfortable for yourself!
Chad and I live pretty much on the West side of the island so any hike that is close to us, we are doing it!

How To Get To The Pink Pillbox hike:
If you are coming from H1 going towards Waianae you’ll turn right onto Kaukama. The trail head starts at the 10th light pole on the right hand side. You won’t be able to miss it, trust me!
Parking is pretty plentiful, it’s just on the righthand side of the road.
A Little About The Pink Pillbox Hike
I am honestly not too sure how long this hike is but it took us maybe 40 minutes to get up because it is a gradual incline the entire time. We kept stoping to take breaks from how tired I was!
The pink pillbox hike is a super clear path compared to other hikes on this island! This hike is definitely suitable for children in my opinion. There were a few people who brought their children that ranged in all ages.
I would wear sunblock for this hike no matter what time you go and definitely wear some sneakers!
Here are some pictures from the hiking route I took:

And that was our hike to the Pink Pillbox!
