Chad and I did some adventuring to find the Kaniakapupu Ruins while we were out hiking the Judd Trail. Finding the Judd Trail took us a little more time than we expected and we just so happen to stumble upon the Kaniakapupu Ruins while we were looking for it. So I'm going to explain how you can find both without getting lost! Click the image to read more! | @acrookedlife |

April 2016 Monthly Recap

I know I say this every month, but seriously, April flew by . . . I don’t know what’s going on right now but life is going by way too fast and I need it to slow down.

Scroll down to read about life in April!

Working Full-Time

Working full-time is no joke. I was pretty much exhausted every evening after work and didn’t want to do anything productive. I actually missed being able to do all the house chores during the week and having the energy and desire to cook dinner for my husband and make his lunch.

However, this job was temporary (again . . .). I know I said it was permanent but things changed unfortunately. So alas, I am back on the job hunt, which means I’ll be able to be a housewife again haha!

Weekend Adventures

Since Chad and I were both working full-time this month we had to spend our weekends doing more chores sadly. We tried doing something fun at least once a weekend though.

One rainy weekend we went to go see the new Beauty & The Beast and it was fantastic! Emma Watson was stunning in the movie! I highly recommend seeing it if you haven’t already.

We went hiking a couple of times and one was definitely my favorite over the other. We hiked the Ehukai Pillbox up in North Shore and the views were so beautiful! This hike is great for kids, isn’t too difficult, and isn’t extremely long. I would hike this trail on a clear day because that’s when you’re going to get the most satisfaction in my opinion.

We also hiked the Judd Trail and stumbled upon the Kaniakapupu Ruins while looking for the trailhead. We thought the Judd Trail was alright but the ruins were really cool. Definitely bring bug spray if you do either of those hikes.

The Kaniakapupu Ruins – King Kamehameha III Summer Palace, significant for hosting a luau of 10,000 people!

If you’re out that way I would skip the Judd Trail and hike the Lulumahu Falls instead – one of my favorite hikes on the island and way better than the Judd Trail!

Lulumahu Falls is by far one of the most beautiful hikes I have ever done, and I believe it is a true hidden gem of Oahu! | @acrookedlife |

New Years Resolution Update

For a recap on my new year resolution, check out these posts: March ReadMy 2017 New Years Resolution

The month of April I decided to read The Millionaire Next Door: The Surprising Secrets of America’s Wealthy.

I don’t know about you, but I am trying to build wealth. So I find this book absolutely fascinating. It’s all about the habits of America’s Millionaires. You learn about their spending habits, demographics and more. It’s super informal and makes you rethink your spending habits.

I know this was a short recap but there isn’t too much to say for this month! Stay tuned though because I do have some more posts coming up in the next few weeks that I am pretty excited for!
